Hey there! I’m Parker Sloan Leiro, Aka The Rolling Sloan

I’m a Holistic Wellness Coach, Yoga Instructor, and currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Nutrition. I’m on a mission to learn and share all that I can about finding true balance in our deeply wise bodies and minds in this modern world. We all deserve to be vibrant, energetic, and make the most of this human experience that we possibly can. But we can’t do that if we aren’t feeling our very best.

What it’s all come down to for me?  Reaching a state of strong physical and emotional health requires the synergistic effects of mindful eating, mindful movement, mindful thinking, and empowering knowledge of your human body + psyche. And, for women, understanding our monthly cycle to enhance all of these aspects and tap into the sacred feminine within us.

What it’s all come to for me? The synergistic effects of mindful eating, mindful movement, and knowledge of the human body + psyche.

The Story

I wasn’t always this way. I wouldn’t eat much other than what you’d find on a kids menu well into middle-school. Everything shifted when I was in about 8th grade. I saw my dad drinking a “green smoothie” to lower his cholesterol after getting his blood results. That’s when it clicked for me: “Wait, I can eat certain foods to make myself healthier from the inside out? Eating some vegetables can literally change my blood for the better?”

That’s when I realized food is medicine. After that I wanted to know it all.

The curiosities were never-ending. What foods are good for my skin? For my eyes? For my bones? I was hooked. I started putting more color onto my plates and joined a local gym. I began to see major changes inside and out. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I fell in love with yoga, and the rest is history from there…kind of.

Even after I started my “healthy living” journey, I went through phases of nutrient imbalance, spreading myself thin with my workouts and intermittent-fasting, plummeting my gut health without knowing it, trying out all the different “diets” just because (without even sticking to them), and moving in and out of simply doing what my body felt was right. I experienced chronic, debilitating anxiety stemming from both my poor gut health, deficiencies, and not having a sense of direction in life. I didn’t know what intuition was. I trusted more in other people’s daily routines and opinions than my own senses…

In this modern world, we are taught to spend more time examining other people’s lives without truly, deeply examining our own – until you’re forced to for your health and well-being.

I thought I knew what it meant to be healthy. I thought that living off protein powder and “vegan” snack bars with a big daily salad and rice cakes as snacks was the epitome of health. I look back at myself with only compassion and love. I could say I now understand that true health is eating colorful plates of food, doing yoga every day, and meditating for at least 20 minutes each morning…But that’s only true for some people. Yes, what is ultimately healthy for each individual is what’s ultimately healthy for each individual. Read that again.

What I’ve learned is that we all need to take a bio-individual approach to our lives. Looking to others for inspiration is a fantastic way to find motivation – who doesn’t like drooling over a new recipe post and seeing fit people workout to get yourself up and going? But what if your favorite influencer’s diet contains foods that don’t do you so well? What if your best friend’s workout plan works really well for them, but completely drains you? Who’s to say these people actually feel really good themselves? We force ourselves to live out of alignment with our intuition, blindly following others, and this habit lasts for years on end.

Please take a moment to recognize the beautiful reality of your bio-individuality. It’s an essential key to unlocking the vibrant, energetic, beautiful life that awaits you. Read that again.

So why am I here writing this all to you? At a very base level, I can tell you a few things that all humans need to survive and thrive, regardless of their bio-individuality:

-A whole food diet, remiss of processed foods.

-Techniques to relieve stress and reframe your mind in tough situations.

-Movements that fuel your body, not drain it.

-A sense of purpose in whatever you are venturing on to fuel your days.

-For woman, understanding your monthly cycle because it is intertwined with every aspect of your life, every week, every day, in the best of ways.

Together, all of these things synergize to strengthen your intuition and guide you through life with a greater sense of flow than you’ve ever experienced. To know thyself.

I am not here to simply give you this knowledge. I’m here to help you find it within yourself. I’m here to collaborate on your journey toward your highest potential. To inspire you with fun, creative meals to make for yourself and others. To teach you how to calm your mind and body when needed, and to energize it when needed. To set effective goals for yourself, and wake up every day ready to tackle them! To show you how you can be physically and mentally strong. To teach you how to be a conscious consumer, decreasing your toxin exposure and finding more sustainability in the food and products you buy. And most importantly…to be compassionate to yourself through the whole process. Make your life a judge-free zone.

I’m so happy you’re here. Welcome to the journey. And don’t forget to have fun along the whole way.

All the light,

Parker Sloan Leiro
